Bilberry Extract Powder is a concentrated herbal extract from the fresh berry of the European wild bilberry, (Vaccinium myrtillus L.). This species has a uniquely dense anthocyanin profile – 15 distinct anthocyanin compounds including delphinidin, cyanidin and malvidin glucosides – that cannot be duplicated by cheaper replacements, unlike conventional cultivated blueberries.

Q1: How do UV and HPLC anthocyanin results differ?

A: Uv reads total pigment absorbance, and gives greater results. HPLC is more exact and recognises single anthocyanins. 25% UV product will normally read 15-18% by HPLC. Both values are present on our COA.

Q2: How can I be sure that the extract is not adulterated?

A: There are 15 different peaks in HPLC of authentic Vaccinium myrtillus extract. Adulteration is indicated by the occurrence of missing peaks or the sole dominance of malvidin-3-glucoside. All 15 peaks are confirmed in our fingerprint report.

Q3: What is the storage condition?

A: Keep in sealed, light-proof containers at temperatures below 25°C. Storage: shelf life 24 months from the date of production.

Q4: Is this extract suitable for use in hot process manufacturing?
