Product Introduction

We use only birch trees growing in cold climates, where Inonotus obliquus grows with the largest concentration of beneficial chemicals. Our hot water and ethanol dual extraction method breaks down the indigestible chitin cell walls to release potent polysaccharides, beta-glucans and triterpenes that you cannot receive from a raw powder. It is a fine brown-yellow powder, highly soluble in hot water and is susceptible of a very wide diversity of formulation. Our extract is wild-harvested and contains naturally occurring betulin from birch bark, unlike farmed versions. It has better antioxidant activity, measured by great SOD levels that your customers will feel.

Microbiological Safety: All our extracts are tested in SGS and Eurofins laboratories. Total Plate Count < 1000 CFU/g Yeast and Mould < 100 CFU/g. This is safe for direct ingestion of the product.

Step 1 - Wild Harvesting: Our certified wild harvesters sustainably gather wild chaga from living birch trees in distant areas during favourable seasons.

Step 2 - Cleaning and Preparation: Raw chaga is carefully washed and dried at controlled temperatures below 60°C to retain heat-sensitive chemicals.

Step 3 - Hot Water Extraction: Material is extracted with hot water under specified time and temperature conditions to separate the water soluble polysaccharides and beta-glucans.

Step 4 - Ethanol Extraction: A second alcohol extraction pulls out fat soluble triterpenes such betulinic acid and other bio-active chemicals.

Step 5 - Concentration and Spray Drying: The combined extracts are concentrated under vacuum at low temperature and then spray dried into fine powder in our workshop of 100,000-level purification.

Step 6 - Quality Testing and Packaging: Each batch is tested by HPLC, microbiological and heavy metal tests before being packaged in double layer PE bags in fibre drums.

Q: What’s the difference between total polysaccharides and the beta-glucans in your extract?

A: Total polysaccharides are all the sugar chains. Beta-glucans are unique bioactive substances that modulate the immune system. Our extract specifies both, with beta-glucans over 20% to ensure therapeutic efficacy and not just filler.

Q: Is there a carrier or filler in your extract?

A: There are no carriers in our premium-grade product. It is a pure extract. If a customer requests lower concentration items for a certain purpose, we will clearly indicate any carrier percentages in our COA.

Q: What is the difference between wild-harvested chaga and farmed mycelium?

A: Wild chaga grows on birch trees for 15-20 years, acquiring unique chemicals such as betulin from the host tree, as well as creating broader spectrum polysaccharides. Lab generated mycelium on grain does not have these birch specific markers and has far lower bioactive amounts.
